Hi All,
My client has an independent contractor who is a registered PT who comes to the office once a week to see new PT patients. He does E&M and writes a treatment plan for the patient. Then the chiro (who is also certified in Med-X) administers the PT during the treatment plan. The chiro sends me superbills with the PT name and ID number and instructs me to bill treatments under the PT even though the PT did not do the treatment. The chiro says that he (the chiro) is acting as the PT assistant and the treatments can be billed under the PT number.
I do not do alot of PT billing, so I appreciate any clarity that all of you can offer!
Thanks so much,
Catherine
