Hi,
Just to add to this post - please don't let this girl discourage you! If you really want to get into the billing and/or coding field and you have a positive attitude, you can make it and you just might love it like many of us on this board do.
I am a billing and coding instructor and I have found that certain people are just negative by nature and also if something gets a little difficult they give up.
I can usually tell within a few days to a couple of weeks at most who will make it and who won't - who has the ability to be a coder and who doesn't. It really takes a certain kind of attitude and certain qualities such as: a postitive attitude, ability to learn quickly, ability to retain information, willingness and eagerness to learn, attention to detail, an analytical mind and DEDICATION.
If that is you, then as I said, do not let anyone discourage you!! You may not get the job of your dreams right out of school, but if you can compromise, be patient, and keep learning, you will get there.
I hope that helped.
Best of luck to you!!!
Erica
p.s. - I'm not sure how close you are to starting your job hunt, but you might want to check out my resume/job hunting tips page for some ideas. Having a great resume and cover letter along with a job hunting plan is KEY in landing a job...
