Steve, this woman was the insurance company's rep who deals directly with doctor's offices and outside organizations the company hires to do HEDIS reviews. It is her job to make sure the company has data the law requires. She told me that my practice would not be give a list of patients for HEDIS reviews if I put patient measurements on the claims. I am not making this up. According to her I could submit BMI, weight, blood pressures, lab results such as A1C, on claim forms. My desire here is to give the insurance company more information from the record, not less nor incorrect information. I haven't looked at the specs for ANSI X12 for 15 years I assume there's a way since she brought it up. I assume she avoided my question because she doesn't deal with claim submission but rather processing of data submitted. I hoped someone here was doing this and could point me in the right direction.
