If you are speaking of any product other than straight Medicare Part B, none of this applies.

Medicare does not differentiate between primary coverage and secondary coverage in regards to timely filing. Here is the handy dandy chart:

Service Dates......................................Claim Must Be Filed By
10-01-2004 through 9-30-2005................12-31-2006
10-01-2005 through 9-30-2006................12-31-2007
10-01-2006 through 9-30-2007................12-31-2008
10-01-2007 through 9-30-2008................12-31-2009

*Note: If a claim is filed more than one year from the date of service, payment to the physician or supplier will be reduced for that service by 10%. The provider cannot bill the patient for this reduction. The patient may only be charged 20% of the amount that Medicare would have approved for the service.
