Are you billing for the facility or physician?

What type of anesthesia are you doing? For simple wound repairs? For conscious sedation?

With the physician, the administration of anesthesia for wound repairs is included with the surgery. See the surgical guidelines in your CPT. If it is for conscious sedation, yes, you can bill for this if it is documented that the provider have the sedation and the type.

For the administration of IV meds such as an antibiotic, or pain medication - no. You can bill for the admnistration of certain IVs such as Ringers. (90780).

The hospital can bill for the drugs, materials and supplies used during these procedures.
