Of course I meant it was the doctor opening himself up to litigation.

And you don't have to do anything illegal to be sued for malpractice. All you need is for another doctor to tell your patient that the chiropractor "should have caught the problem".

My boss was an expert witness in a case here in Detroit, where a chiropractor was sued for malpractice after one of his patients dropped dead from a heart attack. The patient had thoracic subluxations, etc. Anyway, the patient's family won the case, because the doctor "should have" referred them to a cardiologist. So don't make it sound like you're open for litigation only for illegal practices.

My boss has taken several films to a radiologist friend of his for interpretation, because spots have looked cancerous. It's lack of attention to detail that get you sued for malpractice.
