Darn Vin!!!!
I'm impressed!

In addition to what you stated, check your State Laws. For example, in Florida (FS 641.3155) has a law that requires all physicians to submit claims within 180 days of the date of service AND when the physician receives correct insurance information.

When checking these laws, go to your State Legislature website and look in the Statutes. Not Senate Bills. Bills do not become law unless signed. Remember, "I am a Bill on Capital Hill" Yes, it will stick in your head all day! Once you are in the statutes, search through the Insurance laws.

As Vin also stated, if you aren't contracted, any internal policy that the insurance company has, even for non=par providers, is not binding on you. As a non-par provider you aren't obligated to send the claim. This is the contracted member's responsibility to do.

If you are in Las Vegas next Wednesday night, at the MAB location, I will be giving a 1/2 hour talk on appeals to the Las Vegas Chapter of the MAB. As John Belushi said in Animal House - "Have a brew! Don't cost nuthin!"
